The company has obtained the concession from the Veneto Region for the design, execution and management of networks, structures and works related to the integrated water service, also offering consultancy, study and research services in the context of the reorganization of the regional aqueduct system.

The Veneto Region is rich in water. It is enough to look at the distribution of the collection points to realize this: springs in the mountain area, wells in the resurgence belt and surface water draws in the plains. A distribution linked to the geomorphology of the territory, which makes poor quality water (surface water) available where consumption is highest. So it happens that a city like Padua, in order to meet its needs, takes this precious commodity from the wells of Dueville, north of Vicenza. This is because it is more convenient to transport it than to make it drinkable.

The integrated contract awarded by CPL CONCORDIA fits into this scenario. In short, the work concerns sections 7, 8 and 9 of the “Central Veneto Aqueduct Scheme” with a 33-kilometre long route that starts from the interconnection of the A13 motorway with the A4 and winds down southwards to the municipality of Cavarzere in the province of Venice. CPL was responsible for the installation of a cast iron pipeline with a diameter of 1000/1200 whose route, as is easily assumed, intersects many obstacles, the most significant of which is the Venice-Padua waterway.

Through the project “Aqueduct Scheme of Central Veneto”, it is possible to allow the interconnection of the aqueducts fed by the foothill springs with those of the Bassa Padovana, Chioggia and Polesine. The goal is to achieve greater cost-effectiveness and quality of service by progressively decommissioning expensive drinking water plants.
