Odorizing products

CPL CONCORDIA has more than 50 years of experience in natural gas management and offers absolutely reliable global odorization service. Qualified personnel and appropriate equipment ensure maximum safety during all stages of the gas odorization process.

The odorizing substance consists of tetrahydrothiophene (THT 99%) or a mixture of mercaptans (TBM 75%) and is stored in IBCs (Intermedial Bulk Containers) of 2 to 5 cubic meters each. The odorizer product storage at the Concordia (MO) site has a capacity of 46 tons of tetrahydrothiophene (THT 99%) and 50 tons of mercaptan mixture (TBM 75%).
The odorizing product is decanted into drums to facilitate prompt delivery and speed up decanting operations. Environmental safety is ensured by efficient automatic systems for detection, extraction and filtration of any vapors.

The marketed product is guaranteed by UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 Quality Certificate.

Supply and disposal

The management of any empty drums and obsolete odorization equipment requirescaution and special approvals as it falls under in the area of special waste. To carry out these activities CPL CONCORDIA has Article 208 authorization and registration with the National Register of Environmental Managers to transport two types of special waste.

EWC 150110: packaging containing residues of hazardous substances or contaminated with such substances (metal drums with odorizer residues)
EWC 160213: discarded equipment, containing hazardous components other than those in entries 160209 and 160212

To carry out this type of activity CPL CONCORDIA is doted with certifications for waste transportation (authorization no. BO1502 dated 01/06/2021) and waste disposal and treatment operations (DET-AMB-2019 3577 dated 24/07/2019 ).
