Sustainability is part of our DNA, and at CPL it is declined across the board. We have been measuring and monitoring ESG parameters periodically since 2001 and report them in our Sustainability Report. This gives concreteness and rigor to our actions in a transparent way to our stakeholders.
During 2022, we initiated the project for the realization of a strategic sustainability plan (PSSA) with the goal of outlining the strategic growth path in the area of sustainability by structuring a plan that includes a Growing evolution in a logic of integrated sustainable thinking, maximum integration of ESG issues into business activities using enabling levers such as Digital, People and Governance. The effects of climate change are now evident,the need for an ever more stringent commitment to the green transition by all is critical.
We are increasingly committed to the energy/sustainable transition, including through the development of its business in renewable sources (hydrogen, photovoltaics, biomethane, etc.) as well as an ongoing commitment to reducing emissions in all activities and services that the company provides, starting with its own facilities and locations.
People are our most important assets. Care and attention to health and safety in the work environment and to professional and personal well-being are a priority and a legal, economic and moral responsibility for us.
A major part of ESG is about people, and we are committed to “improving people’s quality of life” as stated in the company’s mission statement. We do this with many initiatives such as focusing on welfare, work-life balance and more.
