The Pesaro School Campus consists of a vast area in which there are three high schools that host over 4,000 children, about 70% of the students in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino.

Since 2002, CPL CONCORDIA has been managing the Global Service of the Province of Pesaro and has built a district heating network for the Pesaro School Campus. The amount of the work concerned:

• Centralization of the heating system
• The construction of a new thermal power plant
• The upgrading of two substations and their connection by a new district heating network
• The supply of the new methane pipeline
• The installation of a new reduction cabin

From the power station there are 4 lines of insulated pipes (150 mm), two supply and two return, which run underground at a depth of 1.5 meters and connect the substations of the respective high schools. These lines, designed for the transport of the water produced by the thermal power plant, have a total linear development of about 1,200 meters. Right from the design phase, one of the predominant aspects of reflection was the problem related to the compensation of expansions , solved with a very complex system of pipe deviations.
The total installed capacity is 6 MW, distributed over 3 boilers, which have been associated with 3 modulating burners complete with active combustion control.

On an environmental level , the centralization of the production of the energy vector is particularly significant, all the more so taking into account that this has led to the transformation to methane of the last thermal power plant, owned by the Province, still operating on fuel oil. The performance of this work includes a new thermal power plant, new substations, district heating network, gas supply network and reduction cabin.
