The Castello di Gambarana (PV) farm covers an area of 100 hectares and is dedicated to the traditional production of cereals and rice.

The Castello farm also includes among the crops produced those that are not very profitable but energetic (ryegrass, triticale, etc.). The need is represented by the possibility of using these crops in an intelligent way in the biogas digestion process, reaping significant economic benefits.

Ryegrass, triticale and bernina accompany corn in its search for a production with higher energy conversion.
CPL CONCORDIA has created a biogas cogeneration system powered by the agricultural biomass produced by the company itself. The numbers of the plant are as follows:

• 526 kWe of installed power
• 4,500 MWh of electricity produced per year
• > 7,500 tons per year of silage (maize, triticale, sorghum) to feed the plant

• 8,719 hours of operation and 4,500 MWh produced (equal to the annual consumption of about 1,500 households) are the numbers of an objective contribution to the planet’s need for clean and renewable energy
