Concordia sulla Secchia (MO), 23 December 2020 – CPL CONCORDIA's 2020 ends with a project aimed at giving breath to the territory that surrounds it. The multi-service energy cooperative group has in fact decided to join the Green Mosaic Campaign, a large forestation project promoted by Legambiente and AzzeroCO2 with the patronage of various ministries and the adhesion of dozens of public bodies and private companies.
The initiative that sees the protagonist CPL plans to plant 6,000 trees in 3 years throughout the country, with the commitment to create a sustainable future thanks to interventions aimed at environmental regeneration for the benefit of the community, capable at the same time of contributing to the absorption of CO2 and climate-changing emissions.
"We want to give a signal of the future by dedicating resources tothe creation of permanent forests as an expression of our corporate social responsibility and in full harmony with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development," explained CPL CONCORDIA President Paolo Barbieri. "Together with the project partner AzzeroCO2 we are identifying the three areas, because for us a characterizing element of the project must be the territorial contiguity with our offices in Italy".
The idea pursued by the company is to develop a wooded area in northern Italy, approximately close to the headquarters in Concordia sulla Secchia, one in central Italy, near the headquarters in Rome or Fano, and one in the south with reference to Campania or Puglia.
The Green Mosaic Campaign, launched in 2018, has an ambitious goal: to plant 300,000 new trees and protect 30,000 hectares of existing forests throughout the country.
