Novellara, Reggio Emilia. Not far from the small Emilian village is located the S.A.BA.R. inter-municipal landfill. The center receives municipal solid waste, which in its decomposition process develops biogas; the latter is valorized by capture and used in the production of electricity through cogeneration modules. CPL CONCORDIA designed and built these power plants and has been responsible for their operation and maintenance for more than 16 years. In 2011, S.A.BA.R also decided to increase the amount of electricity produced by installing a 1 MW photovoltaic power plant on some of the landfill’s closed basins, entrusting the design and execution of the plant to CPL CONCORDIA.
