The project was carried out through a form of public\/private partnership with CPL CONCORDIA, using  <\/b><b>An innovative remote control and management system.<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p>The Reggio Emilia Municipality of Montecchio Emilia has been awarded the national award &#8220;<b> Best Practice Public Heritage 2017&#8243;<\/b> awarded as part of the P.A. (Public Administrations) Forum held in Rome at the end of May. The initiative aims to highlight <b>the most innovative experiences and projects<\/b> promoted and developed <b>in partnership between public bodies and private companies.<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p>The prize awarded to Montecchio concerns the &#8221; <b>SMART LUX&#8221; project for the redevelopment of public lighting, and refers to the integration between Smart Lighting and Smart City systems.<\/b> The project was carried out through a form of <b>public\/private partnership with CPL Concordia<\/b>, using the legal instrument of the &#8220;availability contract&#8221;. Also noteworthy is the management approach, which saw the administrative process completed in <b>just 13 months<\/b> , from the approval of the intervention in the budget to the awarding of the tender; <b>In less than 6 months, CPL CONCORDIA carried out the executive design and redevelopment works<\/b> .<\/p>\n\n<p>The intervention included the  <b>Total replacement of 2,400 light points<\/b>  throughout the municipal area with the latest generation of lighting fixtures (over 2000 LEDs)  <b>connected to an innovative remote control and remote management system<\/b>  which allows a triple result in terms of energy efficiency, savings on consumption and reduction of polluting emissions into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <b>new public lighting system has led to an effective saving of \u20ac230,000\/year<\/b> with a reduction in consumption even higher than initially forecast. Compared to a 50% reduction in consumption, the Municipality was able to achieve <b>a 65% saving result, equal to 195 toe (tons of oil equivalent) per year,<\/b> avoiding the emission of 328 tons\/year of CO<sub>2<\/sub> into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n<p>The 14-year contract will also bring several benefits in terms <b>of reducing light pollution and accent lighting for ancient villages and<\/b> parks, with enhancement of historic buildings.
