Like every year, on the first Saturday of July, the whole world celebrates the International Day of Cooperatives, an event promoted by the UN and the International Co-operative Alliance to celebrate the contribution of cooperatives to sustainable development and building a more equitable society. For the occasion Legacoop Estense, together with the associated cooperatives and in collaboration with CPL CONCORDIA, promotes the second edition of WOW – Wall of Wonder, a multi-year project that involves the creation of street art works on the occasion of Coopsday: on the façade of one of the buildings of the CPL headquarters will be created a mural dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the earthquake in Emilia.
The work began on Thursday 30 June: the Rimini artist Filippo Tonni, aka Mozone, will be at work until Sunday 3 July to create the work entitled Rebuilding Together 2012-2022, "a mural with which we want to remember a dramatic event that has left an indelible mark on us all," the president of Legacoop Estense Andrea Benini – but above all one that is able to tell the story of the tenacity, resilience, solidarity and ability to restart and rebuild that has characterized the cooperatives and communities of this territory. I would like to thank the cooperatives that have made this project possible: CPL, Assicoop Modena&Ferrara, Coop Alleanza 3.0, Conad Nord Ovest, Parmareggio, Politecnica, Bilanciai, Abitcoop, Gulliver, Alfa Engineering, Mediagroup98 and Doc Creativity".
The inauguration will take place at CPL's headquarters in Concordia on Friday 8 July at 6:00 pm. "We are very proud that, for this second edition of Legacoop Estense's WOW project, the headquarters of CPL have been identified," says President Paolo Barbieri. "The experience of the earthquake in Emilia is part of our history and we want to tell it with a work that is a symbol of resilience and rebirth."
