SAPI imports and exports raw materials for animal feed, but is also specialised in the wholesale of flour and fish oil produced mainly in South America and Northern Europe.
SAPI processes butcher by-products, manufacturing simple feeds of animal fat origin for zootechnical use and for the soap industry.
SAPI worked with CPL CONCORDIA to pursue the goal of improving its energy efficiency. The annual energy needs of the SAPI plant are equal to 10,000 MWh of electricity and 21,515 MWh of thermal energy in the form of steam and hot water.
Besides having built a co-generation plant for the production facility in Castelnuovo Rangone, Modena, CPL CONCORDIA carried out plant renovations including:
With more than 35 years of experience and over 500 installed plants, CPL is the most reliable partner for the construction and maintenance of co-generation plants fuelled by methane and biogas, able to ensure the best management and maintenance performance to maximise energy efficiency and profit for the benefit of customers and their businesses.
The revamping carried out at SAPI resulted in a significant improvement in terms of energy distribution efficiency, with high energy conversion rates.
The primary energy savings thanks to the revamping amounted to 6.5%, thus contributing to a total primary energy savings (with co-generation) equal to 25%.
