Gas supply networks Bellolampo station gas measurement and decompression station
The methane gas measurement and decompression station was designed to provide support to the existing station in order to deal with the increase in the flow rate.
In the station the gas is filtered (that is, cleaned) by a double-line filtering unit with a rated diameter of DN 300 and measured by means of traditional G4000turbine meters that verify the amount of incoming gas (approximately 81,000 Stm3/h). The station, comprised of 8 rooms, is designed to receive gas from the transport network owned by SNAM Rete Gas at a variable pressure between 12 and 70 bar. A pipeline with a rated
diameter of DN 300 enters, and a pipeline of the same diameter leaves, with a pressure of 5 bar, to supply the municipal distribution network.
Six large pressure reducing valves with a rated diameter of DN 150 (three for operation and three for emergency use) comprise the heart of the network, that is, the decompression equipment. Downline from the pressure reducing valves is installed a pneumatic system for monitoring the outgoing pressure and the flow rate of each line. Following this large decompression (65 bar) the methane gas is cooled by more than 26Åã C; therefore, it is necessary to heat it to guarantee that the equipment functions properly. The hot water preheating system is comprised of 12 boilers with a 2700KW atmospheric burner. The odorizing system consists of two interconnected 265-liter tanks (one for storage and one for operation) and an automatic electronic injection system patented by CPL CONCORDIA. Two pieces of equipment complete the station’s features: a diesel generator guarantees the continuous operation of the network and an uninterrupted power supply provides power to the electronic equipment.
Advantages
CPL CONCORDIA will also perform the system maintenance and remotely control the network. In fact, every parameter is constantly monitored by means of a dedicated GSM line.
